Tucker County West Virginia is the first area in the mid-Atlantic to come alive with fall color. We will be visiting Blackwater Falls State Park and locations within the Monongahela National Forest.
Shooting times: Our exact schedule will depend on weather conditions, but I anticipate shooting Sunrises, Sunsets and Waterfalls. We will take a break mid-day on Saturday to review images and demonstrate Lightroom and Photoshop techniques for making the most of your images.
Each participant should have at least a basic understanding of their gear and exposure (f/stop and shutter speed). I’m always available to help my clients during workshops and tours, but you will gain maximum benefit from this trip if I’m filling in the missing pieces of your knowledge and not teaching the basics. If you are unsure of all of your camera functions, please bring your camera manual with you.
Main camera and backup camera if you have one
Tripod is recommended
Lenses – Wide Angle thru Telephoto (up to 400mm)
Remote Shutter Release
A laptop is recommend for image processing and reviews.
You will be in a rural area of the state of West Virginia. You will be hiking on uneven, rocky and surfaces with inclines. In the event of an emergency, immediate medical care may not be readily available.
Each participant will be required to sign a liability waiver in order to participate.
You will need to be able to carry your gear to shooting locations such as waterfalls and vistas. While there are no strenuous hikes, you should be able to hike less than 1 mile on uneven trails or rocky surfaces. Rolling camera bags are not recommended.
To register just email email@example.com and I will send you a PayPal Invoice. If you would rather pay by check, just let me know and I’ll send you my mail address. Payment is for guide and instruction services only. Transportation, Meals and Lodging are the responsibility of the participant. Due to the short registration timeframe, payment in full will be necessary to secure your spot.
I recommend participants check the forecast a day or so before travel, but typically early October temperatures are quite nice. However, early morning at high elevations can be quite cold.
